1
00:00:00.001 --> 00:00:02.656
I see these
the Beatitudes of Jesus

2
00:00:02.681 --> 00:00:05.053
as a ‘Be-Attitude Revolution’ -

3
00:00:05.071 --> 00:00:07.242
attitudes that if we adopt,

4
00:00:07.267 --> 00:00:09.984
can help us ‘Be’ the change
we want to see in the world.

5
00:00:10.009 --> 00:00:15.829
I'd love to see churches recite
the Beatitudes every week.

6
00:00:15.854 --> 00:00:19.125
I'd like to see Christians
learn them off by heart.

7
00:00:19.150 --> 00:00:22.982
I'd like to see the church
deconstructed and reconstructed

8
00:00:23.007 --> 00:00:26.514
as a recovery movement
where we have ‘Be’ groups

9
00:00:26.539 --> 00:00:29.685
that help us deal with socially
acceptable addictions -

10
00:00:29.710 --> 00:00:34.410
not just ‘AA’ groups that deal with
socially unacceptable addictions.

11
00:00:34.435 --> 00:00:37.789
And I'd like all people of goodwill,

12
00:00:38.547 --> 00:00:43.211
whether Christian or Muslim
or Hindu or Buddhist or atheists

13
00:00:43.212 --> 00:00:47.203
or agnostics to join together
in practicing these Beatitudes

14
00:00:47.228 --> 00:00:49.522
as a way of working for change.

15
00:00:49.547 --> 00:00:52.303
People often say - ‘What
would Jesus do?’

16
00:00:52.328 --> 00:00:54.272
Well, here's the answer
to that question.

17
00:00:54.297 --> 00:00:57.211
This is the way
Jesus called us to act.

18
00:00:57.236 --> 00:00:59.592
In fact, the only Christians
when called ‘Christians’ at all.

19
00:00:59.617 --> 00:01:01.655
They were called ‘People
Of The Way’.

20
00:01:01.680 --> 00:01:03.304
And this is ‘The
Way’ we are called to live...

21
00:01:03.329 --> 00:01:04.750
whether we Christians or not
